Blyth’s progress

The lone British yachtsman, Chay Blyth, is reported to be “in great spirits” about 400 miles west of the Azores, 1800 miles from Southampton, having picked up westerly winds last night after two days of calm. He crossed the outward track of his voyage on June 29, thus completing the first solo, nonstop circumnavigation of the world from east to west which he began on October 18 in his yacht British Steel. —London, July 16.
