SAIGON, July 16. President Thieu of South Vietnam today accused VicePresident Ky of slandering him, and said that scathing accusations were part of a political campaign. Mr Ky, who will oppose Mr Thieu in the Presidential election in October, sent a letter to the President on Tuesday, denouncing him and saying that he was responsible for “a society fraught with unprecedented injustice and corruption.” Mr Ky’s press office made the letter public. Mr Thieu said today that such charges profited only the Communists.
