Forecast: Canterbury and the Kaikoura coast.— Winds light or moderate and variable; coastal showers clearing, and mainly fine; cool by day, frosts tonight.
Marlborough Sounds.—Fresh south-east-erlies at first about Cook Strait, otherwise moderate winds; isolated showers this morning about the sounds, but mainly fine; moderate day temperatures; cold tonight, local frosts.
