Mr J. R. Rhoades, chief inspector since 1966, has been appointed Director of Administration at the head office of the Ministry of Works, Wellington. Bom at Blenheim, in 1916, Mr Rhoades was educated at Marlborough College. He joined the Ministry of Works in Christchurch in 1935 as a clerical cadet, and has worked in Wanganui, Greymouth, and Nelson. He served as a pilot in Bomber Command during World War
