Butter price report

I’N.Z; Press Association)

WELLINGTON, July 15. The Department of Industries and Commerce was preparing a report on the need to increase the price of butter, said the Acting Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Adams-Schneider), today. Referring to reports • that the price was to rise 2c per lb, he said he had not given anyone information regarding a specific increase. He said he would take the department’s report and recommendations to the Cabinet, and an application for an increase would be lodged with the Price Tribunal after that. The report would take some time to prepare, Mr Adams-Schneider said, but he hoped it might be available for next Monday’s Cabinet meeting.
