WAGE OFFER REJECTED

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 15., The New Zealand Printing and Related Trades Union rejected a 7 per cent wage offer, made by the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association and the Master Printers’ Association, when conciliation council talks were held earlier this week. A similar offer made yesterday when the union’s assessors met packaging industry representatives in conciliation was rejected. The two sectors of theprinting industry and the union are to meet jointly oft August 10 to resume conciliation talks.

A union spokesman said today there had been no shift on the wage offer, though changes in conditions were proposed by the employers.
