Eighth victim dead (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DETROIT, June 21. Mr Robert Gardner, aged 28, the tenant of the Detroit flat in which seven people were “executed” last Monday in the latest gpisode of a reputed drug war, died today from the injuries he suffered in the mass slaying. A spokesman for the Ford Hospital, where Mr Gardner had been under intensive care since the shooting, said he died of gunshot wounds to the head, chest and stomach. He had not recovered consciousness sufficiently to talk to police. Mr Gardner is believed tol have opened the door of hisi flat to the intruders shortly, before dawn. Four young black women and three young black men in the flat were killed by shots to the head, all fired from close range. A man and woman escaped the slaughter by jumping through a window at the back of the sparsely-furnished flat.
