1971 Colleen contest

The Christchurch Irish National Society will run a contest to find the colleen of the year. The annual meeting decided that the contest would be confined to society members over 17 years of age and would be judged at a colleen of the year ball on August 28. The meeting also decided to give $lOO to the Commonwealth Games appeal. Officers elected were:— patron, Father J. Kelly; president, Mr M. Maunsell; vicepresidents, Messrs B. Scullion and S.
