V.S.A. short of adults

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 21. The Volunteer Service Abroad organisation is concerned about the decline of its volunteer strength over the last three years.

The organisation’s annual report said the decline was a matter of concern since it stemmed from a shortage of qualified adults offering themselves for service, and not from any dimunution in the number of requests from host governments. While the number of adult volunteers had dropped, school leavers and teacher trainees prepared to volunteer increased last year.
