NEW JAPANESE WARSHIP.—The 1550-ton destroyer escort Ayase which has been built for Japan’s Defence Agency at the Tokyo shipyard of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries. The four diesel engines have a total output of 16,000 h.p., giving the ship a speed of 25 knots.
