WASHINGTON, June 21.

American farm surpluses, which reached the SUSBOOOm mark a few years ago, have now mostly disappeared, mainly because of record exports, according to the Secretary of State for Agriculture (Mr Clifford Hardin). In an interview with “U.S. News and World Report,” he says farm exports now exceed imports by about SUSBOOm. New trade concessions and promotional activities, he said, had increased sales in Europe and Japan, and there had been crop shortages in Europe in some commodities of which there was a surplus in the United States.
