Universities league side
The Sydney University front-row forward, D. Chadwick, has been selected to captain the Australian, Universities Rugby league team on its tour of New Zealand in August. Five years ago, Chadwick was a member of the combined Sydney-New South Wales universities side which played three matches in the South Island.
Chadwick, as captain, and the University of New South Wales hooker, M. Waterhouse, represented the Combined Sydney Second Division against the New Zealand under-23 team at Wentworthville in 1969. The tourists were announced after the annual inter-universities tournament, in which a record eight teams took part. Sydney won the final, beating New South Wales, 24-19 in extra time. Australian Universities will play against Otago University (at Dunedin, August 11), Massey-Victoria Combined (at Wellington, August 18) and two fixtures with New Zealand Universities (at Christchurch, August 14, and Auckland, August 21).
