The brighter side

Sir, —It’s not such a bad place really! From my office window the dther day I observed a Post Office truck parked for a long time across the road. And what was the driver doing? Sitting in the cab reading a magazine, you would say; and you would be wrong. He was outside polishing the bodywork. And today from the same vantage point I saw a youth on a bicycle throw some trash at a waste bin as he rode by. He missed the bin. He stopped, walked back a few yards, and did (he right thing. Is this a record?—Yours, etc., THERE’S HOPE YET. June 12, 1971.
