Musical off

The production of “The King and I” planned for August by the Christchurch Operatic Society has been postponed indefinitely. The society’s chairman (Mr M. Marshall) said it was considered important to devote the working capacity of the society towards the presentation of "Hello Dolly” in March-April next year. The mounting of this musical would be the biggest undertaking in the society’s history, and it was essential that nothing conflicted with it.
