N.Z. butter wanted
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright CANBERRA, June 14.
Three Canberra grocers, apparently thwarted in attempts to import New Zealand butter direct, are trying now to get it from sources outside New Zealand.
They are planning to buy the butter from other countries supplied by the New Zealand Dairy Board. “We definitely haven’t given up trying to get New Zealand butter,” one of the three grocers, Mr B. Williams told N.Z.P.A.
“In fact, we’re 95 per cent certain that we will be able to land it here. We are negotiating with people in several countries who are supplied regularly from New Zealand, and we believe they will sell New Zealand butter to us.
“We will be surprised if the deal doesn’t come off."
