AWARDS TO PUPILS
Pupils of the Christchurch Technical Institute were presented with prizes before the meeting of the institute council last evening. Awards were given as follows: Best in school examinations class, Mrs D. Atwell; cabinet-making and joining, stage 11, Mr R. Pye; fitting and turning, stage I, Mr R. C. Regan; cabinetmaking, block course, stage 11, Mr M. White; cabinetmaking, stage 11, Mr A. Hitchcock; best second year apprentice (D. A. Lewis trophy), A. Hitchcock; outstanding progress over three years trade training (B. W. Younger Trophy), Mr G. Ashby. Cabinetmaking, stage 111, Mr R. Kershaw; Maths IV (N.Z.C.), Mr N. Hanham; hairdressing, Mr L. Black; automotive mechanics, stage I, Mr A. L. Banks; electrical, stage I, Mr A. F. Henderson; accounting I, Mr G. K. Rutledge; fitting and turning. Advanced Trade Certificate, Mr G. J. Pinchin; Electrical Advanced Trade Certificate, Mr P. D. Cattermole.
