U.N. mission invited

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) UNITED NATIONS (New York), June 13. New Zealand has invited the United Nations to send a mission to Niue and the Tokelau Islands next year to “obtain a first hand expression of the wishes of the people themselves as to their political future.” Miss A. Stokes, the New Zealand delegate, told a subcommittee of the special committee on colonialism, that for her Government to receive such a mission would be “entirely in tarmony with the policies that New Zealand has consistently followed. of co-operation with 1 the United Nations in respect of the dependent territories under its administration.”
