Weather radar sought
(N.Z. Press Association, BLENHEIM, June 10. In the interests of safety, the Airline Pilots’ Association wants weather radar installed in all turbine-powered aircraft. At its national conference in Blenheim today, it noted that the association’s request for weather radar was still being considered by the Ministry of Transport. Airborne radar enables a pilot to pinpoint and avoid weather turbulence, and the association wants the equipment installed in Viscounts and Friendships.
