“Sharing the cake”

Sir,—We can be grateful to Mr Muldoon for bringing restrictive union practices out into the open. Our nation can afford to tolerate overmanning, restricted production, or excessive wage rates, only at the expense of a bleak future for our children. Let us face our industrial problems squarely, countering unreasonable demands with firm action, even at the risk of nation-wide stoppages. Let us show the militant agitation- that the decent citizen has had enough.— Yours, etc., RICHARD ELLIS. June 9, 1971.
