Water-supply improvement

An offer which could improve the water-supply for residents of Hoon Hay Valley was made by the Paparua County Council on Thursday evening. The council agreed to provide a sufficient supply from its Kennedy’s Bush reservoir on condition that the residents accept the responsibility for piping the supply, and to charge for the water at cost price. The County Engineer (Mr A. Dyhrberg) said it would cost about $7OOO to pipe from the reservoir to the well now supplying residents. The well, it was stated, did not have enough capacity and was not deep enough to give unpolluted water in times of flooding. Mr Dyhrberg was asked to report on the possibility of extending the supply to Happy Home Road.
