Fiji expectation

The Prime Minister of Fiji (Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara) has called on his country to negotiate some form of associate status with the European Common Market. In a communique cabled to Suva from London, where he has been attending the Commonwealth sugar talks, the Prime Minister said that he expected that Fiji would be given the opportunity to establish some form of associate status with the Community.—Suva.
