Burnt boat identified
(N.Z. Prest Atsociatiom AUCKLAND, June 10. A 35ft pleasure launch which was burnt to the waterline just north of Rangitoto Island on Tuesday afternoon has been identified. She was the Holin Vlndex, owned by Mr P. Rixon, of Auckland. The police believe the plywood boat might have been stolen.
An extensive search by police and Coast Guard boats began after the smoking hull was seen from Motutapu Island by a shepherd. Police inquiries are continuing.
