Relations with China

Sir, —Since his visit to Cambodia, the Leader of the Opposition has supported the Lon Nol Government and strongly criticised Prince Norodom Sihanouk. If the Labour Party is concerned with establishing relations with China, then it should refrain from attacking China’s allies.—Yours, etc., J. B. SMITH. Auckland, May 18, 1971. [The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk), replies: “The second sentence is just nonsense. What does Mr Smith want? Does he want the truth or does he just want that part of the truth which it suits him to believe in?”]
