Basketball team
(N.Z. Preet Association) ROTORUA. A New Zealand men’s basketball team to play three matches against Australia in New Zealand in August was announced after selection trials at Rotorua on Satur-
day. The matches, in the Oceania championship, will be played at Auckland on August 7, Rotorua on August 11, and Christchurch on August 14. There were 19 trialists in the aeries of matches played. The team is:—G. Pettis (captain), P. Lund. Jackson, N. Thomas, G. C. Pardon. J Whelan. R. Piddock (Auckland!, H Dimock, J. Fairweather (Canterbury),. E. Harding, D. Taylor (Nelson), J. Macdonald (Otago).
