Coulson may yet appeal
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) PERTH, May 30. P. Coulson, the disqualified trainerdriver of the Inter-Dominion winner, Junior’s Image, has said that his days as a reinsman are probably over.
“If I have to serve my full seven years there is little likelihood of me ever driving again,” Coulson said when commenting on the suspension ordered against him on Friday by the InterDominion inquiry in Christchurch.
Johnson, the husband of Junior’s Image’s owner was expected to return to Perth tomorrow. “I will then discuss the case with him and study the transcript of the evidence,” he said. “If there are some points In the evidence that I can dispute and successfully challenge, I will appeal." Coulson said that as trotting had always been his business he had no other trade or profession but would now have to look around for a job.
"I still vehemently deny that I gave Junior’s Image caffeine either in tonic form or any other way,” Coulson said, adding that he is at present undecided whether to appeal against the verdict. Coulson said that Mr P.
“Fortunately for my family, I am a shareholder in a block of flats and we will not starve,” said Coulson.
