Allies of U.S. criticised

(N.ZP.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MUNICH, May 30. America's Secretary of the Treasury (Mr John Connally) has lashed out at the allies of the United States who “both freeze out American goods and refuse to carry a larger share of the common defence burden.” Mr Connally told an international banking conference that such policies by the six European Common Market nations, and by Japan and Canada, were mainly to blame for the international

monetary crisis. "We are not going to devalue,” he said in a speech at a final lunch in his honour by more than 200 bankers and government delegates from 20 nations.
