WEIGHING CHAMOIS CARCASES at a game-shooters’ depot near the roadside at Okuru, 10 miles south of Haast on the way to Jackson’s Bay. Light aircraft bring deer and chamois carcases to the depot from a wide area in South Westland. They are transported by road to Central Otago for dispatch overseas.
