No other series of matches incorporating two Rugby league provinces has been as extensively or closelycontested as that between Canterbury and West Coast At the Show Grounds this afternoon the representatives of the leagues will meet for the eighty - ninth time since the first game was played at Greymouth in 1915.
Canterbury has been successful on 44 occasions, while West Coast has won 43 of the fixtures. The only draw—--18-18—was at Greymouth 14 years ago.
