Four children interviewed

Christchurch detectives have interviewed four children in connection with the vandalism at the Hornby School on Tuesday night One of the four—three boys and a girl—was under 10.

Eight rooms and the dental clinic were damaged in the attack, which the general manager of the Canterbury Education Board (Mr D. Wilson) described as the worst for many years. The damage has been estimated at more than $lOOO, including damage of about $5OO to two. pianos, a typewriter and a tape-recorder. Because of the extent of the damage pupils will have Monday, the first day of the new term off. On that day, teachers, parents, and senior pupils will mike a concentrated effort to clean up the mess.
