ORDER LOST
f.V.Z, Press Association/ SAIGON. New Zealand has missed a 150,000 order for 10 thoroughbreds from the Saigon Racing Club because of delays in com* pleting negotiations on shipping Dissatisfied with delays by two New Zealand exporting companies which had tentatively tendered for the order, club officials have decided to buy the horses from France, according to sources here. The club will pay almost twice the New Zealand figure of 550,000 that was originally quoted. The Saigon Racing Club, which holds meetings every Saturday and Sunday, wanted the thoroughbreds to raise the standard of present racing stock. Sources said club officials had been extremely interested in New Zealand horses after seeing a Tourist and Publicity Department ftlm on racing In New Zealand. As a result of the film, the club bought a 96000 starting gate from New Zealand. The gate was put in use two weeks ago, and it is understood the club is now debating whether to order another* to keep in reserve.
