Herd average 100 cows

fN.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, May 11. The average size of New Zealand dairy herds reached 100 cows this season, said the chairman of the Dairy Board (Mr F. L. Onion) today. Mr Onion said herds in Europe averaged five to 20 cows. "When you tell Europeans that we average 100 a herd in New Zealand they look at you incredulously. Sometimes it is quite clear that they really do not believe you," he said.
