“DANGER PAST”
Total N.Z. exclusion (N.Z. Preu Ai.octation) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 10. However, bright prospects were in outside markets, the fact remained that the outcome of the British E.E.C. negotiations would be of critical importance, said the chairman of the Dairy Board (Mr F. L. Onion) today. “The British Government has fully accepted this, and the E.E.C. Council of Ministers now also accepts that safeguards must be provided for New Zealand trade,” Mr Onion said to the Stratford ward conference.
“The danger of total New Zealand exclusion is now past, and the diplomatic pressure both from Britain and New Zealand is concentrated on the measure of protection for continuing access to an enlarged Community for this country's butter and cheese."
