Smales third in clout
(N Z. Press Association)

Smales, of Christchurch, was pushed into third place in keen competition for the senior men’s clout shoot at the South Island archery championship in Invercargill during the week-end. The first two places went to B. Arnott (Dunedin), and I. Powley (Invercargill), with only one arrow separating these two. Conditions were ideal.
