A fine win in the Grand Prix Cup put Town Boy, ridden by C. Clarke (Te Awamutu), further ahead in the national equizole points prize at the Hawke’s Bay “Horse of the year” show yesterday. Despite almost continuous rain the standard of jumping was high. It took two clear rounds to give Tpwn Boy his win.

In the same event, Auckland swept the board in the teams’ competition, its A

team having 18 faults and its B team, 23. Gisborne 29j was third.
