Fire Service field day
More than 100 firemen from the 37 brigades in the Canterbury regional fire district will assemble in Christchurch this morning for a regional field day. During the day demonstrations of modem sophisticated equipment wifi be given by the Metropolitan Brigade, including the use of the turntable ladder, resuscitation equipment and breathing apparatus, and lectures will be given on fire service legislation and fire prevention. Films will also be shown. The regional fire district extends from the Rangitata River to just north of the Clarence River, and as far west as Arthur’s Pass.
