Commonwealth Games Pool
Sir, —The mayor and his council do not look very far ahead for the people of our garden city or their money. He is prepared to spend sl.3m to upgrade the Centennial pool and at the same time say we are very conscious of the need for a Lidotype pool in the eastern suburbs. By upgrading this pool he is also jeopardising our swimmers by leaving them without, sufficient training facilities and spending money that could well be put to another pool which is badly needed. I say to the council march forward, do not just stand still—you may just topple over. Yours, etc.,
FUTURIST. March 12, 1971.
