India achieved a historic victory over the West Indies in the second test in Port of Spain yesterday to record its first victory in 25 matches between the two countries. West Indies succumbed by seven wickets with a day to spare after its second inning batting had again fallen prey to the Indian spinners. India now leads 1-0 in the five-test series. The most damaging blow to West Indian hopes came when C. Lloyd was out just when he seemed likely to launch a match-winning onslaught on the Indian spinners.
