SEAL FOR CHARITY
Hundred of thousands of Easter seals being sold by the Crippled Children Society will appear on mail in New Zealand in the next month and a half.
Funds raised from the sales will contribute towards operating costs at a local branch level.
A spokesman for the society said that he hoped all the seals would be used on mail after purchase, because public familiarisation with the new emblem was as important to the society as the raising of funds. National appeals and street days had not been a traditional means of fund-raising Iby the society but they had I been introduced; in response! ;to the growing number of; ’children needing its attention.
If business firms responded generously and each household bought a sheet or two of the Easter seals then local children in need of special treatment and equipment could be assured of it immediately, the spokesman said.
Passed in.—A three-bed-room house on a 32-perch section at 13 Bricknor Street, Templeton, was passed in at $12,750 at auction on Friday, as was a two-bedroom bungalow on a section of 40 perches in Bay View Road, Redcliffs, the highest offer for which was $6750. The auctioneer of both properties was Mr L. B. Prendeville.
