A member of the New Zealand Horse Society’s showjumping team beat top Australian riders in a fault-and-out contest at the Newcastle Show Grounds on Saturday.
J. Hume (Carterton) on his | six-year-old gelding D’Arcy won the Coles Stores fault-and-out table C jump with 30 points and a time of 94.25ec.
The Australian Olympic riders, J. Fahey, on Warwick (29 points, 82.8 sec) and K. Bacon on Cadet (17 points, 45.8 sec), were second and third. But in the inter-Dominion show jumping "Ashes” contest held over two rounds on Wednesday and Saturday
