Flights to Chathams

I (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Feb. 26. Flights to the Chatham Islands during the 26 weeks beginning on April 1, will be at the rate of three a fortnight. Announcing this today, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) said that a reduction in the number of fishing boats working in Chatham Islands waters indicated that little or no increase in air traffic to the islands could be expected in the next few months. However, flights could be adjusted to meet any flluctuations in demand. On the first and each following alternate Tuesday, flights will be routed Welling-ton-Chatham Islands-Christ-church. On the second and each following alternate Tuesday, the route will be Christchurch - Chatham Is-lands-Wellington; and on each alternate Friday the flight will be Wellington-Chatham Islands-Wellington.
