Assembly in N.Z.

The award-winning Fiat 128 model, a front-wheel-drive saloon with a crossmounted 1116 ex. 55 b.h.p. engine, will almost certainly be assembled in New Zealand later this year, the New Zealand concessionaires, Torino Motors, Ltd, have announced. A large shipment of Italian - assembled Fiats which arrived in New Zealand recently included several examples of the Fiat 128, a car which has gained numerous “car of the year” awards in Europe. The shipment from Italy also included examples of the Fiat 124 1600 c.c. sports coupe, which has a fivespeed gearbox and a top speed of 112 m.p.h.
