Intrepid not to start

Intrepid has not recovered completely from the virus infection which prevented him racing last Saturday, and he has been scratched from the Second Pacing Consolation Race on the final day of the Inter-Dominion meeting. Intrepid was still coughing on Wednesday night, and while he seemed to be much improved, it had been decided to take no risks with him, said his part-owner and trainer, M. L. Edwards. Global Hall is an unlikely starter in the Trotting Consolation Race. If she is scratched, her trainer, R. D. Butt, will drive Logan Park. He will return to driving Tony Bear on Saturday. D. G. Jones has been engaged to drive Royal Belmer in the Three-year-old Championship. He will also drive Light View in the Trotting Grand Final. No driver has yet been engaged for her stablemate, Fair Play. D. L. McGregor will drive Cardigan Lass In the same race, J. A. Carmichael driving Precocious. Meeting tonight "Th* Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. The Manawatu Trotting Club’s meeting, which was to have been held last night has been postponed until tonight. Wet weather made the track at Palmerston North unsafe and the Trotting Conference last night gave permission for the meeting to be run tonight.
