Starlifter returns
A United States Air Force Starlifter aircraft returned soon after leaving Christchurch yesterday after jettisoning about 60,0001 b of fuel, because of a malfunction in landing gear. The aircraft, on a flight to Pago Pago, flew back to Christchurch Airport about 8 a.m. Emergency services at the airport stood by. The Starlifter landed without incident, however, and after repairs to what was found to be a minor fault left again for Pago Pago at 11 a.m.
