CAUSE OF FIRE?

Sparks from the exhaust of a diesel truck were thought to have caused the major fire in roadside growth in Victoria Park, Cr E. R. Radcliffe (Mount Herbert County Council) told the annual meeting of Ward 11 of the Counties’ Association yesterday. The ward was told that representations had previously been made for an investigation into large numbers of roadside fires said to have been caused by this brand of truck, and although an investigation had been made, nothing more had been done. The ward decided to ask the Ministry of Transport for action.
