TOPLESS?

(From Our Own Reporter) PAJMERSTON NORTH, February 23.

The tenseness of the moment proved too much for one girl competitor at the national age-group swimming championships at Palmerston North this week.

The referee gave his Instructions for the swimmers to prepare to take their marks, and the girl in question casually undid the top of her track-suit only to be informed by an astounded official that she had neglected to don her swimsuit before her tracksuit.

However, the grils modesty was preserved with the aid of a woman official and a towel, at the rear of a nearby temporary stand.
