Yachting titles
(from Our Own Reporter) • GREYMOUTH. The Nelson-Marlborough-West Coast yachting championships were decided at Lake Rotoiti, South Westland, during the week-end. Competitors from Nelson, Picton, Pohara Beach, Motueka, Kalkoura, Westport, Moana, Greymouth, Mahinapua and Canterbury took part. The district championship for P class boats was won by S. Field (Nelson) from P. Sinnott (Greymouth). The championship for boats over 12ft was won by W. Hende (Moana) in a catamaran, and the second place went to M. Pope (Nelson) in a Flying Dutchman. Sailing a Moth, D. Coakley (Greymouth) won the open championship. C. Preston (Nelson) won the Cherub class from G. Hopkinson (Greymouth).
