Boys don wigs
A Christchurch headmaster has met a new difficulty in the problem of high-school boys with long hair—at Cashmere High School at least three boys have been discovered wearing wigs to cover their shoulderlength locks.
Threats have been made that the wigs will be confiscated, but the boys say that nothing in the school regulations prohibits the use of wigs. The boys have been wearing the wigs, which are fairly neat but obviously synthetic, for some time.
