Narrow bridges

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Feb. 18. The Westland Co-operative Dairy Company has expressed concern over the narrowness of the Slatey Creek and Craigieburn River bridges. In a letter to the Grey County Council the company said that the bridges were iyery narrow as evidence of tyres rubbing on the sides of the bridge showed.

“The constant rubbing of the tyres against the bridge may cause a blow-out and a serious accident. The tankers are Bft lin wide and the bridges are Bft 4in and Bft 2in wide.

“It is impossible to keep the tankers that straight,” I said the company.
