Hawke’s Bay favoured
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Hawke’s Bay is now favoured to win its first national colts’ softball title, after defeating Wellington, 3-2, yesterday. Hawke's Bay and Hutt Valley head the tournament with one loss each, and Hutt will play Wellington this morning. A win to Wellington would give the tournament to the Bay, provided the latter beats Southland. Yesterday’s results were: Southland 12, Marlborough 2; Waikato 8, Canterbury 4; Hawke’s Bay 3, Wellington 2; Hutt Valley 1, Auckland ft Manawatn 4, Otago 3; Southland 7, Waikato 1; tVelhngton 5, Canterbury 3; Hutt Valley 10, Martborough 0; Manawatn 5, Auckland 2; Hawke’s Bay 4, Otago 0
Tennis.—The New Zealander, O. Parun, and his Austrian partner, H. Kary, beat B. Bertram (South Africa) and T. Gorman (United States), 6-3, 6-4, In the first round of doubles In the United States Indoor tennis championships.
