Week-end accidents
Five persons were admitted to Christchurch Hospital
after road accidents in Christchurch at the week-end. Most of the accidents occurred on Saturday evening or yesterday morning. Warren James Britain, ol 14 Neill Street, Hornby, is in a fairly comfortable condition with moderately serious head injuries he suffered when two cars, one of them towing a trailer, collided ir Riccarton.
Joseph Hannah Tukere, aged 9, of 45 Thames Street, is in a comfortable condition with moderately serious leg and arm injuries he suffered when he was struck by a bus in Harewood Road.
David James Cook, aged 16, of 85 Palmers Road, New Brighton, received head injuries when he fell from his motor-cycle in Hawford Road. St Martins. His condition was last evening described as comfortable.
Mrs Judith Margaret Gain, of 19 Dundonald Street, Dunedin, suffered serious head and leg injuries when the car in which she was travelling struck a power pole at the intersection of North Parade and Averill Street, Shirley. Her condition Is satisfactory. Peter Jefferson, care of Lincoln College, who was also injured in the accident, received serious head and leg injuries. He is in a satisfactory condition.
